Riki and Hotake

Riki was bummed. Hotake knows how to cure that. We get to watch. (Alex hopes)

Here’s how: My little bro has been looking for a good slide show format for the pictures on the site. So we hope you’ll bear with us as we do some experimenting. The viewer we’re trying out here is called Piclens. If it works it’s awesome. There are 2 ways to use it. One is to click the link and little icon here:

[piclens-lite-link]

If you have the right version of Adobe Flash Player (V.9.0.28 or higher) in your browser, that will enable a little play button to show up in the lower left hand corner of the picture when you mouse over it. Click on that and the slide viewer launches. The viewer can display things in several different modes. To get the full screen slide show, click on the little expander icon in the bottom left corner of the viewer.

If that method doesn’t work for you, go to the Piclens site and download the Piclens viewer browser plug-in there. It allows you to view the images from any Piclens enabled website (there are lots of them) in their image-wall/slide-show format.

It’s really a pretty cool viewer. But if you don’t want to hassle with it, I’ll also be putting up the Riki and Hotake series in my same old boring gallery format. If you do try out the viewer, Alex and I would love to get any feedback/comments you have about it.

I just downloaded and installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. I can’t find the program anywhere, even where is says it put it. I tried the links again, and again nothing is happening. I don’t understand what I am doing wrong. I checked the Windows folder and the System 32 folder which is where the Flash Player is supposed to be, but all I can find in the Macromedia Folder is a couple of Flash Help programs and some other stuff, and neither of those programs will open either. So I don’t know what to do.

Well, I went and downloaded and installed the Picscan Viewer and finally figured out how to use it. Pretty cool. Will this work with any other pics on your site, or only with the Riki and Hotake?

Sorry you had to go thru so much hassle but I’m glad you finally got it working and like it. I think it’s a killer viewer, at least for most things. Like when I tried it out for my comic thingy it looked like the perfect thing for displaying it.

Right now it’s only set up to work for this one set of pics, but if people seem to like it, I(or maybe Alex, hehehe) will get some other sets geared up to use it. (It was sort of a bitch to figure out what had to be done with the pics to get them to display in it, but now that I think we sorta know how to do it, it should be easier doing it for other sets.) I want to do it in a way tho that leaves the regular gallery view available as an option, so we have to make sure that when we’re enabling stuff for Piclens we don’t fuck up some other part of the system.

Oh, as I guess we’re proving right now, Alex did get the comment function working for pages. What a guy.

Yea, he is. But then most 15 year olds understand this computer stuff better than we do. I have been with computers since the first big system came out. I mean the old punch card, wired board things from IBM. I have had several home systems, but never studied them just use them. He has done some great things here and really spruced your site up.

    Hi,
I downloaded Piclens and installed it on my pc. I then viewed my photos in Facebook and the viewer works wonderfully. When I arrive back at your site the left hand corner sign does not light up when I move my mouse around. So the viewer does not work. What am I doing wrong? Could you help me out please. I’m not so good at making these things work.
    Thanks in advance
    Johan
